‘Jab We Met’ sequel in the works: Everything we know so far | The Express Tribune

The blockbuster hit Jab We Met will soon be getting a sequel, as confirmed by a report in Zoom. The media outlet reported that rumours had been circulating for quite some time now about a sequel to the fan-favourite film being in the pipeline and that the news has only just been confirmed of there being a second installation in the universe of Aditya and Geet’s tumultuous love story and eventual happy ending.

Rumours of a possible part two to the beloved film began when a fan asked Shahid whether he and Jab We Met director Imtiaz Ali had any collaborative projects lined up on Valentine's Day. Shahid simply replied to the question with two words: “Smart boy”, which excited many fans as the Kabir Singh actor seemed to hint at the two working together on a film project.

Although the Love Aaj Kal has many films credited to his name, fans were quick to assume that an Imtiaz and Shahid collaboration could only mean a Jab We Met sequel and not another movie with new characters.

However, it has been confirmed that the sequel is indeed in production under Raj Mehta. The responsibility for producing this much-anticipated sequel falls upon Raj Mehta, operating under the Gandhar Films banner.

It has not yet been confirmed whether ex-lovers Kareena and Shahid will reprise their iconic roles for the sequel or if the filmmakers will bring together a new pair or an existing reel-life ‘it couple’ and depict their journey to meeting at a chance encounter and eventually falling in love.
