The Pakistan Stock Exchange briefly crossed the 68,000-point mark on Thursday, creating a new record for the stock market.

The benchmark 100-index got off to a hot start on Thursday, quickly reaching 68,392 points.

However, the PSX fell lower than the mark soon only to cross it again briefly for the second time in a single day.

All in all, the market had made a net gain of 400 points by 11 am.

Synergy, K-Electric, PPL and PIA were among the big winners on Thursday.

The PSX has shattered multiple records since the fiscal year began. It first crossed the 50,000-point mark for the first time in five years in October, and then broke the 60,000-point mark in November for the first time.
